Аbstract: The article covers the prehistory and circumstances of emergence and existing of the bright work of archi- tecture of an era of structuralism in space of the historic center of the city of Krasnodar – a complex of the Book House which has exerted considerable impact on a modern cultural landscape of the city is covered in article; the spatial context of a construction is characterized, the description of his appearance and an interior, special art qualities as object of cultural heritage is provided, also the town-planning and welfare functions which have undergone transformation, in particular, a role of the identifying object and a symbol of an era are meant inherent in him initially.
