Аbstract: In the review a new publishing project “Poszkazie” is analyzed. It was prepared by a group of young Kuban authors. The basis of the project was a modern interpretation of folk and author’s tales. The reviewer notes that the project attracts interest from the general public, from ordinary readers to folklorists and theorists of contemporary Russian literature. It means that Russian folk tales are still relevant and popular. Against the backdrop of a decline in interest in reading, classical works compete very successfully with modern literature.A strong popularity is gained by the various remakes and fanfics, to which the reviewed book is partly related.
Keywords: folklore, modern fairy tale, fairy tale, fairy story, mythology.
