The History of the Peoples of North Caucasus As a Part of Their Cultural Heritage

Аbstract: The peoples’ history is the part of their cultural heritage. Naturally, the history plays the great role in the modeling of national identity. The North Caucasus is a unique multi-ethnic and multi-religious region. Its peoples took part in the formation of the nation and consolidation of the Russian statehood. That incorporation process was complicated and controversial. Finally, the mountain peoples achieved considerable success in their development within the united community of Russian peoples. That vast historical experience should be demanded as a valuable resource of interethnic concord.
